The Saturn has to be the most beautiful planet in our solar system. Its beautiful dust rings has attracted attention of scientists, astronomers and poets. Looks like the mystery behind the rings of Saturn will be revealed by the scientists. The Phoebe, Saturn’s moon was focus of the scrutiny by scientists but now it has shifted on its larger and brighter counterpart which has closer orbit to the Saturn. Giant dust clouds around the beautiful planet give an illusion of ring around it.
The data reveals that gravitational forces of moons are also responsible for this. Detailed map of the rings have been chalked out by the researcher and this is going to be useful tool for the exploration around the dust cloud. The content of the ring’s particles will be analyzed too. The massive size of the ring is big challenge. The Phoebe ring is made up of small dust particles. It is as long as 1.6 million miles and inner age begins around 3.7 million miles from Saturn. The outer part of the ring is 6.4 million miles away.
If we go by these huge figures we have structure with diameter of around 20 million. The research was published in the latest issue of Nature, a scientific journal. The particles are as small as 10 millionth parts of a meter and at this small size radiation can easily pass through the ring.
